Support the Charles Litel Neurological Clinical Research Fund
We are saddened by the loss of our beautiful son Charles Monroe Litel after a terrible car accident. We are heartbroken. Charlie was just 22 years old entering the prime of his life...
One of Charlie’s passions was his work with and support of pediatric neurology. He was influenced by family experiences and his time spent with his friend John Thomas Savoie. JT, now deceased, was a patient of Dr. Gary Clark at the Blue Bird Clinic for Pediatric Neurology at Texas Children's Hospital. Charlie's older brother Collier was once treated by Dr. Clark at the Blue Bird Clinic at TCH recovering from a seizure when he was 5 years old. Charlie's younger brother had two brain surgeries at age 12 at Texas Children's Hospital which saved his life. Our family has been blessed by TCH and Dr. Gary Clark. The value of Pediatric Neurology was well understood by Charlie.
Charlie felt proud of and cherished his experience at Camp Spike ‘n Wave where he was camp counselor for 3 summers attending to his friend John Thomas Savoie. The camp for kids with epilepsy combines the outdoors with camaraderie and team building and was the perfect fit for Charlie. One summer, he chose to spend the week at camp, instead of going on a sailing trip with friends in the Virgin Islands, a testament to his caring nature and selfless service to others.
Charlie's legacy of service to others, is why we ask you to consider a donation in his honor. Our family has been blessed by Texas Children’s Hospital and the Blue Bird Circle, Houston's oldest and longest running women's charity organization.
Your gift helps us honor Charlie's legacy of service and also helps Texas Children's Hospital and the Blue Birds continue to provide hope and healing for the many women and children in our community. Your donation goes directly to the Charles Litel Neurological Research Fund at Texas Children’s Hospital. This helps other families in need of support. We want to pay it forward...God Bless Charles Monroe Litel. We love you forever.
