It’s time to brush up on your short game, practice your backswing, air out your most outrageous, “baddest” pants, and join us for a colorful day of golf at the 26th annual Bad Pants Open!
Whether you’re one of the best golfers or one of the worst dressers, the annual Bad Pants Open is your opportunity to be a steadfast champion of Texas Children’s Newborn Center® and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). On Monday, November 11, 2024, Houston’s worst dressed and most generous will gather at Champions Golf Club to help save the lives of Houston’s tiniest patients.
Bad Pants Open raises funds for services that go above and beyond the expert medical care provided at Texas Children’s Newborn Center©. This year, we are thrilled to announce that the proceeds will fund a new peer-to-peer support service provided by Hand to Hold, an organization that provides personalized support before, during, and after a NICU stay to ensure all NICU families thrive. This will offer our patient families invaluable emotional support, guidance, and encouragement during what can be a stressful and overwhelming time.
The 24/7 support system includes a free app, private digital communities, virtual support groups, educational resources, podcasts, and peer mentoring and counseling, all at no cost to the families. Additionally, a team of three multilingual, certified Peer Support Specialists (and former NICU parents) will provide 50 hours of in-person support each week.
The proceeds will also continue to fund the initiatives that Bad Pants Open has long supported, including parking assistance and Lyft rides to and from the hospital, meal vouchers, milestone beads, and parent backpacks.
At Texas Children’s Newborn Center?, our goal is to ensure that every family feels supported and nurtured, enabling them to devote their full attention to the health of their baby and preparing to go home. With the integration of Hand to Hold, we can make a life-changing difference for our families. Join us today!
