Abercrombie Legacy Society Annual Luncheon 2024
The J.S. and Lillie Abercrombie Legacy Society was established to honor those who have included Texas Children’s Hospital in their estate plans. Members of the Abercrombie Legacy Society have named the hospital as a beneficiary of a will, trust, retirement plan or other long-term arrangement. We are committed to carrying out, with the utmost care, the charitable plans of these friends.
One of the four civic leaders who founded Texas Children’s, James Smither Abercrombie, served as the first chair of the Board of Trustees. “Mr. Jim” was a Houston oilman and president of Cameron Iron Works. His vision and influence helped pave the way for all that Texas Children’s has achieved since our doors opened in 1954. The trust that he and his beloved wife, Lillie, included in their estate plans provided generous support that still impacts the hospital today.
Our Annual Luncheon celebrates those who have generously included Texas Children’s in their long-term plans. This year’s luncheon will include a retrospective discussion, highlighting Texas Children’s 70- year anniversary and evolution from the physician perspective, featuring Dr. James Versalovic, Pathologist-in-Chief.
