Balls for Malawi!

Hello! My name is Preston and I am 10 years old. I have a great childhood. I realized that it is great mostly because of what other people do for me and the opportunities that I get everyday. As I learned more and more about the world, I realized not everyone has the same great childhood as I do. And most of the time children can't control if they have major difficulties or struggles in their life. I decided I would try help. I wanted to be that "other person" that effects their childhood in a good way.

A ball can change the life of a child. You might wonder how can a ball make a child so happy? Well, a ball can make a child happy if they make a great catch or score! A simple ball can empower a child too. It can give them the ability to teach others, focus on something more positive, be more active, make friends, and take their mind off their troubles in life. I am not trying to give every child a first class plane ride, I just want one thing for them... and that one thing is a simple ball.

I am raising money to donate balls to hospitals across Malawi for kids and teens to play with when they come for appointments.  Many of the kids have to wait all day thinking about their illness and playing with a ball can take their minds off of why they are at the hospital.  Many of these kids have HIV, cancer, or heart disease preventing them from living a normal childhood.  These clubs support more than 12,000 children living with chronic illnesses across the country.

I WANT THERE TO BE BALLS IN 150 TEEN CLUBS FOR CHILDREN TO PLAY WITH!

This will empower the children by giving them the ability to teach each other, focus on something positive, and it will increase their physical activity.

I hope you will donate!

$20 will make me happy
