2Fit for Fistula

2Fit for Fistula is raising funds for Obstetric Fistula prevention and repair initiatives in Malawi and other African countries. Our collective goal is to raise $5,000. Please support our Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine team by making a gift today. Members of the gym, 2Fit, in Lilongwe, are banding together to compete in the Cape Maclear Triathlon on October 7th, 2017. With your support, we will bring attention to the problem of Obstetric Fistula and help more women through prevention of the condition and access to surgery.

Obstetric Fistula is a devastating condition that occurs during childbirth and results in uncontrollable incontinence. It can be prevented through access to a timely cesarean section and is fixable through gynecological surgery. Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine support a team of gynecologists who repair women with fistulas in Malawi, Madagascar, Sierra Leone and Cameroon. They also focus on training more local surgeons to be able to provide the surgery at no cost to the women impacted. Your donation will go a long way to continue this work by supporting the ongoing work and training of fistula surgeons so that one day, no woman suffers from this preventable childbirth injury.

     Thank you for your support!
