Charlotte was diagnosed with leukemia in 2016 just as she was beginning 2nd Grade. Her friends, Nikolai and Luka, formed Team Charlotte and raced the Typhoon Texas Kids triathlon the following year to honor her and raise awareness and money for kids with cancer. Team Charlotte has continued racing this triathlon every year, with Nora and Grant joining the cause in 2021, right after Charlotte also joined in to do her first triathlon in 2020!

On Sunday April 13th, 2025, Team Charlotte will be racing for their eighth year in honor of all kids fighting cancer. Team Charlotte is raising money for an amazing organization, the Texas Children’s Cancer Center. When Texas Children’s Hospital opened in 1954, only 10% of childhood cancer patients survived, but today, over 80% of diagnosed kids successfully beat cancer! However, Texas Children’s won’t stop working until they have a cure for every single child impacted by this disease.
