Welcome to Mike's Swim For Corinne Page!
I am swimming for my daughter, Corinne (age 4), who is currently a patient at Texas Children's Hospital. On July 26, I'll be swimming 3.2 miles along with 25 family members in support of the the Pediatric Surgical Oncology Research Lab at Texas Children's.
Corinne was diagnosed in September of 2024 with a Stage IV Metastaic Wilms Tumor, which means the cancer, a pineapple sized tumor in her abdomen that required her kidney to be removed, had spread to her lungs.
Her journey continues because of the life-changing work of the physicians, nurses and staff at Texas Children's who have dedicated their lives to providing the BEST care to any child facing a cancer diagnosis. The team at Texas Children's including Dr. Smith, Dr. Luckie, Dr. Vasudevan, her nurse coordinator Jennifer Hinojosa, and countless others have been paramount in her progress.
The years of research and clinical care behind Wilms Tumors and complex solid tumor cancers have saved her life, and there is so much more work to do as so many families face diseases for which emerging therapies might just be their chance.
We are humbled to swim in honor of our four-year-old. It is our way of paying forward the care she continues to receive and in hope that the world moves one step closer to a day that every child facing any cancer diagnosis receives the same life saving treatment.
Texas Children's Oncology Center and Pediatric Surgical Oncology Program is on the front lines of beating terrible diseases that no family should endure. We are filled with gratitude by your decision to join us in advancing the state of the art, supporting the very doctors who have cared for Corinne and so many others.
We are honored to direct the funds toward Texas Children's Pediatric Surgical Oncology Lab. The Lab performs cutting edge clinical, translational, and basic science research focused on pediatric solid tumors. Led by Dr. Sanjeev Vasudevan, Corinne's surgeon, the Lab's work is centered on finding new cures through cancer modeling, molecular profiling, and preclinical testing of novel targeted agents.
Thank you for considering a donation and joining us in supporting this cause.
