My grandniece, Corrine Finnerty age 4, was diagnosed with metastatic Wilm's Tumor in Sept 2024 and is currently receiving treatment at Texas Children's Hospital for this kidney cancer unique to children, and is showing significant improvement. I send this to you now humbly requesting that you make a contribution of any size to Texas Children's Hospital in order to help their dedicated team further their research into treatment of this disease and other solid tumors.
On July 26, I will be participating with several others in an organized swim-athon dedicated to this effort. I will be swimming 2.8 miles, as will several other participants, with love for and in honor of Corrine in hopes of raising a significant amount of funds to further this cause.
Diagnosed in September of 2024 with a Stage IV Wilms Tumor, Corrine has undergone surgery, radiation treatment and chemotherapy treatment under the care of the medical teams at Texas Children's Hospital. Her journey continues because of the life-changing work of the dedicated staff at Texas Children's Oncology Center and Surgical Research Center.
Corrine's family and I will greatly appreciate any contribution you could make. Also, please post or forward this link to anyone else you know who might be interested in furthering this cause.
ALL funds raised in this effort will be directed toward Texas Children's Surgical Oncology Lab which is on the vanguard of clinical and basic science research focused on pediatric solid tumors.Led by Dr. Sanjeev Vasudevan, their work is centered on finding new cures through cancer modeling, molecular profiling, and preclinical testing of novel targeted agents.
