This summer, we are swimming for our second cousin, Corinne who is 4 years old. She is the daughter of my dad’s cousin and lives in Texas.
Last year, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer that spread to her lungs. She has fought through a major surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. We’ve thought of her every day and love that she loved the toys and books we sent to her throughout the year. She’s been through a lot over the last 10 months, but now she is doing really well and is almost done with her treatment! We can’t wait to see her in July once her treatment is done. She and her family are coming to Long Island for vacation and are starting it off with a Swim for Corinne event!
Corinne asked us if we would like to swim in her event to help her and other kids battling cancer. We were so excited to say yes and to do something so meaningful for those that are going through such tough times.
We will be swimming to raise money her for doctors to help other kids who are sick with cancers that do not respond to today’s treatments. Corinne’s inspiring so many people to do good and we are honored to swim for her.
On July 26th at Nassau Country club, Lane and Cam will be swimming 500 yards. Caitlin will be swimming 1,000 yards, and Kyle will be swimming 2,500 yards in the Swim for Corinne. Thank you so much for supporting us in Corinne’s fight and in the fight of so many other children battling cancer.
